Hello,
I held a H1 visa from 2004 to 2014. The last employer I worked with filed my GC and I had an approved I-140 and that is how I was getting 3 year extensions beyond 6 years. I quit my last job in 2014 and went on H4. My H1 was approved till March 2017. Now I want to start working again. Can my new employer just transfer the H1? If so, how may years can I get on my H1? Will I be allowed to get it renewed based on my previous I-140? Does that depend on whether my new employer files my GC or it's irrespective of that? Also, can I get time I spent on H4 as unused H1 visa time and that gets added to H1?
Thank you,
AJ
