Driver license renewal after name change on passport/visa.
My wife changed her given name & surname (family name) in passport & she is currently on H4 visa, when we went for driver license renewal with new name the DMV asked us produce the court affidavit.
We do have marriage certificate issued in India (English version), so I am not understanding is it required to get court affidavit as I am on H1B visa and my wife is on H4 visa.
I am currently staying in Virginia. I talked to one guy here and he suggested me to get affidavit from Embassy of India but I am not sure it will work or not.
And I am not sure that court in VA will entertain us as we have all documentation from India?
Please advice me what to do, your help will be appreciated.
