Currently I am in H4 in USA, and now I got the approval for my H1B extension petition. In this case, please let me if I need to apply for COS(H4 to H1B) when I am travelling to India to get the stamping? And also, now am I eligible for drop-box stamping for H1B(H1B visa got expired on 4-Aug-16)?

If you are on H4 then how did your H1 extension get approved? Doesn't make sense.
