Question on H-1B transfer
I have a valid H-1B working for a state University. This visa is cap-exempt, as I work for a higher education institution. I would like to know if I can transfer my H-1B visa to a private company, if they desire to hire me, without the restriction of the H-1B cap. I'm asking because my visa was never in that restricted category in the first place and I've heard that my visa may be revoked by my current employer (the state) if I wish to no longer work for them.
