safe H1B transfer while working for old company

Hi,

I work for company A and want to switch to company B.

In order to minimize the risk, can I accept company B's offer and have them apply for my H1B transfer while continuing to work for the previous company.

I would join the new company once they receive my H1B transfer receipt. If something goes wrong, then I'd continue working for the old company.

Is this possible?
