H4 to F1 change of status with passport expiring in next 12 months

We plan to apply for change of status from H4 to F1 for my wife in first week of July 2017. Her passport expires after 12 months on 28 July 2018. Any idea how will USCIS adjudicate this case? What can be validity of F1 status and I94?

It doesn't matter. The admit until date on the I-94 for F-1 will be "D/S" (i.e. no date).
