MY H1B is expiring in Feb 2018 and i haven't gone out of USA since it's approval to get an H1B stamp. Now i have to visit india this coming week due to family reasons. I plan to get my first H1B stamp during my 4 week's stay in india.
My employer had filed H1B as consular processing (will get it without i-94) so i could travel while application was under review. The filed using premium processing and have received email confirmation of it's approval. They plan to mail the approval notice to India once they receive it or give it to me before i leave (if they receive it sooner).
I have following queries regarding my H1B interview:
1. What is the average wait time for H1B VISA interviews?
2. I have filled a DS160 but not submitted it yet. should i submit it and get an interview date based on old H1B petition? or wait and add both old and new receipt numbers?
3. Also, I am confused and worried as to which H1B approval notice i should use?
a) if i use OLD H1B approval notice (which expires in Feb 2018), the validity of my stamp would be very short (uptil Feb 2018)
b) if i wait 1 week to get my NEW H1B an use it for my stamping, would it mean that i cannot enter USA anytime before 10 days of start date on the H1B extension approval?
