  • Should I apply for visa from home country or country I am presently residing in?

    Hi All,
I have got an offer from an US university for postdoc. They are sponsoring H1 visa (no cap).
I am presently in Singapore (from Jan 2017) holding an S-Pass. I am working here as a postdoc.
Should I apply for visa from US embassy in Singapore or should I apply from India?
I have never been to US anytime.
I have been searching to find this info, but haven't been able to. Any pointers will be of great help.

    Thanks.

You should be able to apply at the U.S. embassy in Singapore.

      Thank you.
I intend to go back to India and join as faculty after my 1 year postdoc in US.
How do I show that intent?
Or, is it better to apply from home country?
