Can a person hold H1B and B2 visa together?

Hi Team,

I would like to describe my scenario as follows:

1. I have a valid H1B petition till 2019. However due to certain project constraints Visa stamping is not done/getting delayed.
2. Now my husband has travelled to US on L1 on a short term. So I cant have/try for L2 as his stay is not confirmed.
3. Meanwhile I was planning to visit him on B2 visa.
4. However I am not sure whether that will have any problem for my future H1B processing

so my question is whether I can have h1 b and b2 visa together

Yes. I'm still not clear why you can't get L-2, but if you meet the higher burden of obtaining a B-2, go ahead

I can get L-2 but because my husband stay on l1 is not long term. So by the time I find a job there he will return. And also with H1-b, I can find job easily.
Basically I don't want to loose an opportunity to work.

You can only be on 1 status at any given time in US.
You cant be on B2 and H1 at same time, Counselor Office will cancel your B2 visa if in future you go for H1 stamping
