Working in USA (on H1); employer offering to work in UK for a while

Hi

I am currently working at Chicago, USA on H1 visa.
My company is asking me to go to UK and work at one of its vendor firm for a period of 8-10 months.
During this period, my paycheck will still be coming from my current employer but I will be working in UK at a vendor site.

I have recently filed for 7th year extension of my H1 and my GC processing is also in the first stage.

While I am still on the H1 for an USA employer, can I go outside USA for 8-10 months?
Could this cause any negative impacts on my H1 extensions or GC processing?

I see that you came to US via H1 visa. I need little information about H1 procedure. Please help me.

My name is Mukti and I live in Columbia, SC. I would like my brother to apply for H1 visa and come to US. I need some help that how did you find an employer in US who was willing to sponsor for H1 visa. How did you apply for the job? Please give me some information about your experience .

It's been a long time but I used to apply to the advertisement in the newspaper. And that's where I found the employer who sponsered my H1 in 2000.
