H1 B visa denied

Hi, my H1B visa got denied as the USCIS think that the job is not a speciality occupation. my Lawyer says that they will go for Appeal as I am a data engineer and there is no way its not a speciality occupation. Since the Appeal will take 6 months to give me an answer and thats also not certain. Do you think I can change my job during the appeal process is going on? Whats the Law behind it.

Are you saying your employers petition for you was denied, or are you saying the petition was approved but the consular officer refused to grant you a visa?
