I had my interview on 20th Dec 05 and till date I havent received any reply from them i.e. Kolkata Consulate. They have lost my husband's company papers for the first time and we have sent them again.
Is there anything we can do other than just making futile calls or counting days??

Can a letter from a consulare or a lawyer help us in speeding the process??

Any advice is welcome

Are you on 221(g)? What has the V O stated in the refusal letter he handed over to you. In rare cases, if you think you have the documents that the consulate wants to see, then try making a fresh appointment to go back to them again.

Yes I am on 221g. The VO asked for 6 months bank statements and 2004 W2. We faxed them in Dec.

Then she asked for my husband's company docs. The company have send the docs in Feb. But on calling them they said they are still waiting for a response from the company.


So, we send the same set of docs again and on calling them in first week of May, they said they have received the new set of company docs.

Still no response from them.

Pls note the VO has my passport.

in this situation can I go for another interview?? On what basis can I make the interview???

If the Visa Officer has your passport, you have no choice but to wait until they contact you. Just keep sending them regular e mails asking for status updates.

Have a question

Hello Immihelp users

I have a question.

My husband was with a company X till May 2004 and then he moved to a new company Y from June 2004 and the visa of company Y is valid till Feb07. But in his passport he has the stamping of company X and it is valid till August 06.

Note I appeared for interview on 20th Dec 05. I even provided the current employer letter to the VO.

My case is in Admin Processing.

Is the above problem a cause for pushing my case to AAP???

its not the reason for AAP.

VO wants to get some more clarification from the Y company and when they receive the confirmation, they will reply to U asking U come again for interview or they will directly send ur Passport with Visa Stamped.

dont know when Consulate people will contact U becz no timeframe for AAP cases.

I know the answer is vague but still I want to know

What is the maximum time for which the consulate can keep a case especially H4 case hanging????

Is there any authority who can help cos for all other visas theres a way out but not for dependant visas.

Any experienced person there listening??
