DS 160 Family Information

Under "Family Information" it ask for Father and Mother information. My parents do not remember their exact date of birth (they are quite old) but gave me a date based on their memory (do not have a document to proof that). Not sure if I should use that date or mention ?Do not Know?. ?Do not Know? may cause confusion and might be difficult to explain. Please let me know your suggestions.

Listing Do Not Know is probably better than listing an incorrect date. This is not an uncommon situation, so the consular officer has certainly seen it before.
