Hi all, need some advice and possibly some assurance.
I was in the US for 4 years on an F1, then worked on OPT and STEM OPT for a while and now working on an H1B. I recently came home for my first stamping.
A few years ago, I was arrested for a misdemeanor (smoking **** in public). The charges were dismissed (ACD with immediate dismissal) and the record expunged.
During my interview, on top of the usual questions, I was asked about the nature of the arrest and its outcome and I provided the necessary documentation. After the interview, I was given a workers right handbook and an approval slip but was told they might need to do some additional processing though I shouldn't worry about it. Soon after, I got a call from the embassy asking for a panel physicians report. I did all the necessary tests the next day.
I am not worried about the tests at all, I am sure they will all turn out negative. Though I also had to talk to a psychiatrist, I am not sure why?
So my question is, did the counselor officer have a change of heart? If all the tests are negative, can they still deny my visa? Should I be worried? Has anyone else been in this situation?
Thanks!
