yes.. in a way it depends on the embassy too..

Its very unlikely that the VO from an embassy in Germany/Sweden asks tech stuff..

But its very common in the consulates in the UK and in India.

This is not an exam. They call it visa interview, not visa exam.

may be sometime they will ask some Tech or simillar Questions to other applicant.. just for my ref.. not going for exam of Visa I know better..
