Need urgent help

Hello all,

I go my H1-B approved. I am from india, following is my back ground

I went US to do my masters and due to some issues with my professor i didnt continue to finish my thesis and so the school refused to extend my I-20 which was about to expire on march 31st. March 31st is in the middle of the semester, So the school asked me to withdraw from university for that particular semester, leave the country before march 31st and complete my masters by taking a online course in the summer. So i withdrew from the university, came back and comleted my masters by taking one on-line course. I also got an offer with one of the leading MNC's before i completed my masters in april itself and i joined them on may26th.

will there be any issue or questions during my stamping interview?

How I read it.............you were out of status after march 31............On what visa did u come back in?...your F-1 was no longer valid after your withdrawal so you really should not have reentered on it......whether it will be a problem will depend on whether the school reported your withdrawal and what visa you reentered the US on...

when did you apply for the H ?

Thanks for replying to my question. But i think i confused you, let me put my scenario differently


1. I went US to do my masters in fall 2001
2. Due to some issues with my professor i didnt continue to finish my thesis and so the school refused to extend my I-20 which was about to expire on march 31st 2004.
3. It was in the middle of a semester, so i have to withdraw from the university, leave the country and finish my masters by taking online course from india.
4. I came back to india and left USA on march 31st(which was the last day of my I-20).
5. I resgistered for a online course during may - august 2004 and completed my masters.
6. I interviews with big MNC's during april in india and joined the MNC in india in may 1st week.
7. I never came back to US , i am still in india only.
8. During january i came to US on a businees trip on B1 visa from my current employer. During that stamping , there is a entry in my passport "ANNOTATION -- NO SEVIS VIOLATION"
9. I can always prove the visa interviewer that i left USA before 31st march, because at the port of entry(mumbai), there is a seal in my passport which is on april 2nd and also i have boarding pass.

Hope i am clear now, please let me know now what u feel.

Yes i was confused..........when you said you cam eback to the Masters i thought you meant cam eback to the US

Anyway, no, you wont have any problems as far as your withdrawal is concerned. You left when you were required to and so were never out of status.
