L1B petition when already filed for H1B

Hi,
H1B interviews isn't going to start until October 2006.
Is it possible to file for a L1B-premium petition now even though the filing for H1B petition was done in April 2006?

Visa interviews for H1b can start anytime in September, you are entitiled to enter US only after 1 Oct. You can hve both the approvals, but you can use only one visa to enter the US, in which case there is every possibility that the other visa might get cancelled.
