H1 Transfer - Urgent

i m currently working for a consultant and i have got another job.The new employer has sent the documents for H1 transfer. Can anybody let me how long it takes to get the receipt no? How much time it will take for the whole H1 Transfer procedure? What if my present employer comes to know abt the transfer and he tries to cancel my H1? Can my current Employes cancel my H1 or do any harm to me?

If you file your H1 Transfer in premium processing, it takes approximately a week to get your receipt notice and one more week for your approval, but if you go for normal processing it takes about 3 weeks to get the receipt notice and 2 months for approval. Dont worry even if your employer comes to know and cancels your H1 also because INS always gives 30 days grace period for cancelled petition i.e they will allow the canceled petitioner to find a new job within this time, if the petitioner is not going to come back with any other new applciation then they will cancel your visa. So dont worry by that time you can get your new H1 approved. This is not legal advice, just my suggestions.
