can I keep the yearly H1B extension if a new employer files a new petition ?

I currently have yearly extension of my H1B because my employer sponsored me for the green card a year prior the 6th year limit period.
I would like to change of employer : can a new petition be filed on my behalf and I can still stay under the H1-B ? will I be granted the yearly h1b extension ?
