H4 visa - Beginners question

Hello,
Am currently based in India and my consultant in the U.S. has received my I-797 this month(sent me a soft copy) and has asked me to take the visa appointment for stamping of my H-1 and my wife's H-4.
Is my I-797 the only approval required from UCSIS for getting my wife's H-4 stamped? Doesn't she need a separate I-797 for her too? Does she need to file I-539. I plan to travel together with her.

Your wife does not need a separate I-797 approval notice since her I-94 card will reflect her valid H-4 status in the U.S. The validity of her stay is controlled by the date on her I-94 card.
