H4- 221(G) Plz share ur experiences

I came to US in July 2006 and my wife had an H4 Appt on 30th AUG 2006. I applied for SSN and till date my SSN was not issued. My wife got 221(G) additional administrative processing and the VO aske to submit Originial Pay stubs, Letter explaining delay in pay checks.
I can send these doc's once I get the SSN.
I would request all the forum members who have experienced the same situation earlier and how did they overcome, And the contetnt for the Letter.
