  • Travelling while "change of employer".

I would really appreciate if someone could help me out with this situation:

1.I have a valid H1-B visa stamped in my passport from company "N", expires in 2008.
    2. I changed employers and my new company "q" applied for my new visa under "change of employers".
    3. I received the reciept from the USCIS.
    4. I travelled to india in May after i received the receipt and had no problems re-entering.
    5. My company lawyers received clarification from USCIS which said that why was i applying for "change of status".
    6. My company lawyers responded with adequate information saying it was "change of employers" and not "change of status".
    7. My lawyer thinks that my name would be flagged under "change of status" and i might have problems re-entering.

I have read all the legal documents, and every document says i can travel.
And my question is should i travel?

Is change of employers and change of status the same? I am sure it is not but just double checking.

I would really appreciate it-i am travelling on sept 27, and my lawyers send the documents on sep 18 clarifying that it is change of employers. I will be out of the country for 2 weeks.

    appreciate your help.

---- Yes, you can travel provided the stamped visa is valid on your Passport

Is change of employers and change of status the same? I am sure it is not but just double checking.

---- Change of employers is when you transfer from company A to company B
---- Change of status is from H4 to H1 or F1 to H1 etc.
