H4 to H1

Hi all,

my wife is on H4 and is planning to either work or study, so whats the process:
if she gets admissions and get I-20?
if she gets a job and they sponsor her H1 b? can she start as soon as she gets her papers and get her SSN?

I know that the quota is over... but I still want to know..

---- YES, she cana take admission into any course and continue her education. Each state in the US has its own rules for the amount of fees for foreign students. Check with the local University office or Community college for all the details

if she gets a job and they sponsor her H1 b? can she start as soon as she gets her papers and get her SSN?

---- She has to apply for Change of Status (from H4 to H1) while getting sponsored for a H1 by an employer. Currently as you know she can apply starting April 2007 for starting employment from Oct. 2007

I know that the quota is over... but I still want to know..
