URGENT:Confusion over which Consulate to attend

Hi All,
I have taken my H1 Visa interview date in Oct '06 at Mumbai Consulate ; based on USCIS online approval for Mumbai Consulate. My permanent residence right from birth to complete education and Passport issuance falls under Mumbai conslate's jurisdiction.

But my work experience for the past 2 and half years has been in Hyderabad and Chennai(which falls under Chennai consulate's jurisdiction)

In case Mumbai Consulate redirects me to Chennai consulate during Visa interview , Will that severely affect my chances of getting H1 Visa?

Incase a question is asked in this regard by the Visa Officer what would be a wise reply to give ? Please advise

dear rohit

it is better to take appionment from chennai
as per counslate rules you should take appiontment from chennai
if u appier at mumbai they may issue you 221g
and u have to face other one round interview
so better to take appionment from chennai

Thanks for ur time and advise.
The problem with appearing in Chennai is that my USCIS (I797 Notice of Action) approval is for Mumbai Consulate . I bliv this is because of my permanent residency under Mumbai consulate jurisdiction.

I have already taken a date for Mumbai in Oct.

If I cancel the current appointment and taken new one for Chennai wont they ask me why I came there despite the USCIS approval for Mumbai?

In case Mumbai consulate redirects me to Chennai does that severely affect my H1 visa?
