I got 221g for drop Box( Please advise)

Hi I have attended Visa interview on 27th of October ,this was first time H1B I got very simple query for Responsibility document. But they have told that I can drop that document through drop box. They have taken all my Original certificates. But my Petitioner is insisting me to go to Chennai consulate as drop box will take time. Will it be problem if I go personally though I got drop box option?
seniors please help me in this concern.

Hi Ravi,

Even i faced the same situation.i attened the interview on 11th Oct and i got 221g and VO asked to submit the documents through drop box.

I came to know that we can attend the interview personally even though we got drop box option,so i went o VFS office in Hyderabad and enquired even they said that u can attend the interview inperson...on their words i went to chennai on 9th to attend the interview...but i faced a bad time over there...


The security people at the consulate not even allowed me to go in.they made me wait for 40 mins outside.they called the higher officials and enquired about my case...and finaly said that,U can't attend the interview personally as u asked to drop ur documents in drop box...i requested them..but no use..

and then after i went to VFS office in chennai to drop my documents..they even said that we can't attend the interview inperson when they asked for drop box.

this is all my personal experience...

so my advice is to drop ur documents in drop box.

---- You have to follow the instructions as given by the US Consulate. Circumventing those norms will not help you in any manner. The time taken will be the same as they may be having their own process of making decisions and communicating them to you

when did u submit the dcos in drop box eventually?

Thanks a lot for your Valuable information.Nothing to worry for drop box as I have enquired through some of my friends.If our case is genune we will get passport stamped at the earliest.all the best hope u will get your passport stamped at the earliest.

Finally i got my Visa yesterday

Hello Gropu members,


I finally succeded in getting my Visa.I got it Yesterday evening...actually i got query thrice..and last time they have given me 221g blue form and asked to drop the documents in drop box..i droped my documents in VFS drop box,Chennai on 9th,Nov and i got my visa approved on 16th Nov.IT just took 1 week for my Visa to get approved.


Am really thankful to each and every member of the group.and all my best wishes to everyone who is going to attend the interview,and to those who are waiting for their visas.
