  • H1 visa question

I have been in the US on my H1 visa for a period of 5 years and now i have relocated to canada. I did not utilize the entire 6 year term on my H1 , only first 5 years.
    1) Now, in case I decide to go back to the US and apply for H1 again, will i get H1 for 6 years or just one year that is remaining?
    2) Do I need to stay out of US for one year before reapplying for new H1 ?
    3) If I apply for visitor visa in this one year duration will it affect my chances of getting new H1 ?

    Thanks,
    kk

As far as I know, you have to be out of US for 1 year before you get 6 yr on H1. Even is you go to US as a tourist, it can affect your clock of 6 years.
