Transfer L1A --> H1 (Need Advice)

Hi Folks,

I currently work for Company A on a L1A Visa from the UK, which is valid until May 2008. Company B has offered me a position (verbally) which I need in writing to move forward.

What I am not sure on is now is my visa affected. I assume Company B needs to apply for a H1B visa (as per reading our posts on this forum). Is that true? Now long does it take to receive a H1B if Company B applied for me?

Also, if I joined Company B on a H1B, can I apply for a Green Card?

Would my future GC app be affected by moving from L1A (Company A) to H1B (Company B)?

---- Yes, company B needs to apply for a H1. If it is regular processing it will take 6-8 weeks. Premium processing takes 2-4 weeks

---- Yes, you can apply by satisfying all the requirements for the GC

Would my future GC app be affected by moving from L1A (Company A) to H1B (Company B)?

---- You've already made the decision to change from comapny A to Company B. In no way will the process be affected

Appreciate the quick response

If Company B applied for a H1B, do they need to wait until April '07 to process, based on quota?

Could I join Company B in Jan '07 with my L1A (not leave the US), until my H1B is approved?
