I am currently on L1B (Blanket) visa in USA. I have just completed 4.5 years on this visa and I am going back to India after completing assignment in March. My question is, whether I can apply for new H1b this April 2007 . After it's approval can I come back to USA in October 2007 or do I need to wait till March 2008 to reset my counter for H1b for six`years. Someone told me that if you comeback in October 2007, it will be counted withing the period of L1B and you will get 1.5 years on new H1B. To reset the counter for new H1b, I need to after a year since I left USA. Please clarify.
