H1 transfer question

My H1b transfer petition was filed today (01/19/07). How much time should I wait before I can start working with my new employer? Do I need to wait till I get the receipt from USCIS?

As per my knowledge, you can start working to your new employer once you get the receipt, which should be with in 1 - 2 weeks.

Also, can you please let me know what all documents are needed for filing H1 transfer. I am also about to apply for a H1 transfer next month.

How many recent paystubs are needed? Have you produced any w2 of last year?( If applicable)
