H1 transfer

I am applying for a H1 tranfer from company A to company B.
But anytime I can come back to Company A. Company A is not going to cancel my H1. If my H1 transfer gets rejected, can I work with company A?

Or, Does the rejection of H1 transfer mean that I am no longer on H1 either with company A or company B?
