I am currently in L1 and trying to apply for H1B in this years quota. This is just in case my current company asks me to go back to India.
I requested the contracting company which is sponsoring my H1B to apply for a H1B Visa which needs to be issued abroad assuming that is my only choice.
But the company says they can apply for a status change Visa from L1 to H1B. After i get the petition approved for H1B, I will still hold my L1 valid and can continue to work with my current company. they say only when I want to quit my current company, I can move to H1B and quit my current Job.
I feel that it is not correct and if I blindly follow them, in oct, I will forcibly lose my current Job as I think my Visa will be changed to H1B for sure. I still feel that applying for H1B which needs to be issues abraod is my only choice.
