Hi,

I am from India and currently residing in US under H4 status,I have filled for H1 visa .I will get the elgibility to work in US only after October 1 2007,mean while during this process can I go to India.

I am from India and currently residing in US under H4 status,I have filled for H1 visa .I will get the elgibility to work in US only after October 1 2007,mean while during this process can I go to India.

---- If you can avoid travel, there is nothing like it. However, if you do go to India and presuming you H1 is approved seek a Visa interview with the US Consulate, get the H1 Visa stamped on your Passport and then return to US.

---- But remember that if you submit your I-94 at the Port of Departure (POD), USCIS wil be notified and they may start questioning as you would be considered to have abondoned even your present status of H4

---- Consider your options very carefully before travelling overseas
