  • How to proceed? H1-B/form 221g/Client letter/more than a year

    Hi All,

I guess there is someone with a similar exp and I would expect a suggestion in this regard:

I went for Consulate interview at Chennai in Feb 2006 and I was issued form 221-g asking for a client letter, describing my roles and responsibilities. And I was asked to drop copies of the docs in VFS dropbox and I need not attend the interview personally.
However, my employer could not provide me all the documentation till last week. I now have the client letter with recent wage bills and new project details given by my employer. It is now more than a year, that I am issued a form 221g, I have heard that it is valid for only one year....
    My questions are:
    - Should I drop the docs in VFS dropbox?
    - Should I schedule an interview for a personal visit to Chennai? (I stay in Hyd)

    Any info is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Modest Friend

I would suggest you to call the US Embassy and explain them the situation, they will help you in getting an appointment. If they ask you why it was not done you can always say that the earlier project was posponed and now its been initalized.

    regards
    sam
