H1 and H4-Subramanya need your expertise

I am holding a valid H1 from company X since Nov 2006,my husband is also employed with the same company X and he aslo holds a valid H1,currently he is in the US,on long term assignment.But now the company is unable to provide me with a project because of no requirements.

1. Can I apply for a H4 from the same company X and travel.
2. Will my H1 get cancelled if I apply for H4.

---- Yes, you can apply for the H4 with your husband as the principa; applicant

2. Will my H1 get cancelled if I apply for H4.

---- Even if it is cancelled you can transfer to another company after you come to US. Normally, it will not be cancelled. If you carry H1 and H4 Visas on your Passport at the POE you will be asked on which Visa you want to enter and you choose accordingly
