H4 for child

This is for a divorced mother, who got H1 approved(I-797). She is planning to go to Mumbai consulate for interview. She has a daughter of 12 years.

Is it advisable to go both of them for H1 and H4 together for interview? Or H1 first and then H4.

together will be better. but she will also need proof of sole custody and/or some kind of NOC from the ex showing he does not object her taking the child to another country.
