H1 Renew at Mexico - I am from NY

Hi,

I live and work around New York and I need to renew my h1-b. I thought of going to Canada, but there are no appointments available. I am thinking of going to Mexico or Bahama's. I would like to know if any one went to Mexico from east coast for stamping. Living in NY, would there be any issue if I go to Mexico for stamping. Please advise.
