H4 visa for my Husband

I'll ve travelling shortly to US on H1-B visa.My husband wants to visit me on H4 visa.
I understand that a NOC from his current employer and relevant documents are needed.
My passport carries my address in the name of my father.Though my surname has not changed after marriage, i want to confirm if an endosement is needed in my passport changing my fathers name to my husbands name for application of his H4?

If this is necessary, what would be the procedure and on whose passport the endosement should be done.

if that is your leagal name you can keep it. But some VO's require that the spouse name should be endorsed in the passport, that means on some page it will mention

husband or wife of so and so.

Hi,

Firstly is your husband would stay with you in US or just wanna visit. Either wouldn’t matter to the VO but your husband may face few questions such as why he is intended to go US leaving India?

Regarding your passport issue it is better and I think it is must to have your husband name included in your passport because he would get H4 visa status based your H1 visa hence it is necessary that his name is included in your passport. Both of your passports should have spouse names included.

You can apply for “ inclusion of spouse name” service at your applicable passport office. Last time when I did used this service for wife’s passport it took a month (Bangalore passport center) not sure at other centers

If my husbands gets my name included in his passport(Inclusion of spouse name service), will that be sufficient to apply for his H4?
As i'am in US i won't be able to get it done.
Please suggest.
