I applied for a H1 petition through a US based employer in April 2006 when I was in India and obtained the approval in sep 2006. I had L1 stamped on my passport through another employer in India. I travelled to the US on my Indian employer's L1 visa in Nov 2006. I am currently in the US since Nov 2006 on L1 obtained through my employer in India.
Question: Can i straightaway join my US employer who filed for my H1 last year and start working on my h1 . My consultant tells there is no need for any paperwork or stamping since I am already in US. is this true. will i be in valid status if i join H1 employer and start working without stamping now and without any ohter paperwork. how to inform INS that i am working on H1. pls reply.
