H1-B transfer after a break

Hi,

My husband and I work for a company in city A. We both have H1-B from that company. Now my husband got a job in city B and we plan to move.

1) Is is possible for me to quit my job and transfer to H4 and then transfer back to H1B once I get a job in city B? My understanding is that I will not be subject to the visa cap. Any other risks involved?

2) How is transfer of H1-B when you jump companies, different from the
H1B - H4 - H1B transfer? Is it a new application?

If anyone has more information / personal experience regarding this please advise.

yes you can apply and not be counted against cap if counted once in last six years.

the procedure is not different only you cannot start work till H1 is approved.
