H1 Time Period

Hi All,

I got my H1 stamped in March2007. I am thinking to enter USA by December 2007.

I have some doubt, if someone can help me. if I go to USA in Decembet 2007, My 3 years H1 period will start from December of it starts from when I got my H1 stamped.

Please help me to take decision, it will be very usuful for me.

Sanjana,

As you are from 2006 April quota, Your papers validity would be from October 2006 to September 2009.

It is not releated to either sby stamping date or the date you enter into US.

Suppose if some body apply for H1B in April 2007 their papers are valid from October 2007 to September 2010.

Hai sanjana if u get stamped in march 2007 and if u travel in dec 2007 it will not be a problem.

The stamping dates in ur visa will be according to ur I-797 validity dates. That is for 3 years.

But once u land in USA then the 3 year validity starts. They will caliculate ur over all stay in USA. If u come 1 year late after getting ur visa then this 1 year will be extended in the last.

First they issue u 3 years visa. After that 3 years u will get extension. And after that they will extend the days what all u miss here.

That is they will caliculate ur over all stay in ur USA. ( that is for 6 years )
