Regarding visa appointment

Hi,
My state of residence is AP. So, i should attend interview in chennai consulate.

But, mu consultant has mentioned my consulate as Delhi in I-797 form.

Please let me know where should i attend the interview now. I cannot take an appointment in Delhi as when i select my state of residence as AP, it goes to chennai consulate for appointments.

If i attend in chennai, will there be any problem as in I797 it is mentioned as Delhi.

Please help.

Many members at this forum has this question and concern about the consulate in which one has to appear for the visa interview.

My attorney, in fact asked me to which consulate do I belong according to residency rule and the passport office.

One of my friend's contention is that some agencies intentionally avoid certain US consulates in India and USCIS names the consulate that the attorney suggests.

Well you may explore legal issues connected with you problem and consult your attorney as well the Chennai consulate for direction.
