I have to giveup my H1B due to health reasons and will be getting onto H4...do i need to leave the country for this? can i appply by myself or do i need to hire a lawyer? please reply any help appreciated

is the form I-539 sufficient ? do i need to fill I-129 ? i am already in the US.

only I-539 and proof that you maintained legal status while on H1 and paperwork for your spouse's H1.

Thanks for the reply..... i just read online that if u have applied for your I-485( via my hubby), you need not do a change in status because now ur status is your I-485 application ..is that true?
Anyone any suggestions?
