Grace period L2 to H1B COS. Please help

I am working for company A on L2 EAD in US. Got my H1b COS approved thru company B w.e.f Oct 2007. I got to know that we can have a 2 months gap legally before joing the H1B company... called the grace period.
Is that true? Can I avoid joining company B till Dec 07?

as far as i know: there's nothing grace period...but if we apply for COS,it will take 2to 3 months time to get it approved...may be you are treating it/in the opinion as grace period.
