H4 -> H1, I-94 issue

Hi,

My wife was on H4 and applied for H1B this year. we travelled to India mean while and came back on April 8th. We attached her old I-94 (that came with H4) along with the H1B application. When we came back on April 8th, we got a new I-94. We recently recieved the H1B approval and it has the old I-94 with the new dates.

Now she has both the I-94s, one that came with H1B and the other that she got when she came back to US on H4.

We are worried that something is wrong here. Which I-94 is valid now? Can she get SSN and start working from this October?

since tha approval came later that I-94 is current, but never evaer leave the country again when an application like that is pending.
