  • Need advice on H4 for new born baby

    Hi All,

    Thanks in advance.

Myself, my wife and son are going for first time H1 and H4 stamping at chennai consulate in first week of Nov 2007. And also I am expecting my second baby in the month of Feb 2008. I will be travelling immediatly after new baby's birth and later my wife, my first son will join me in US with my new baby. So now how should I go about my second expected baby H4 stamping.

    1. Do I need to produce all the documents for new born baby H4 stamping?
    2. Do I need to produce pay stubs or there is a exemption for new born babies?
    3. Will there be any queries that why my wife and first son didnt travelled with me.

I am looking forward your valuable advise.

    Regards,
    Prithvisha

You should apply for a passport for your baby first. Then apply for H4 separately (assuming your wife and first kid will get H4 along with you now).
    1. Ofcourse, they need to carry all the supporting documents (pay stubs etc) that will establish proof of your job and income in US.
    2. No exemption for any dependents.
    3. May be but not an issue. Getting a visa stamped together doesn't mean that all need to travle together. So don't worry.

    Good luck!
