I'm a dumb american who doesn't fully understand the immigration laws and need some quick advice. I have a friend who is getting married. The man she is marrying is on an H4 visa. He has been working for a typical employer for the past two years, paying taxes etc. while going to school. From my understanding he shouldn't be working. What are the repercussions on him for doing so. I know that as soon as the marriage takes place they were planning on requesting a change in status... but what should be expected? I'm really worried, and have heard multiple things, the last thing i want is for her to be a newlywed and lose her husband.... PLEASE ADVISE.
