I am working in Hyderabad, AP. I got I 797 from my employeer, in that they memtioned consulate name as "Mumbai". is it possible to attend in mumbai consulate..

No you can not. Since you are working in AP for more than 6 months, you have to attend interview only in Chennai. Even you want to attend Mumbai, they will send you back to Chennai.
