Appointment for H1 stamping

Once you get the petition approved, can you take stamping appointment anywhere? Is there a mention of the particular embassy when your petition is submitted for approval? Does the USCIS have to send any documents to the particular embassy where you want to apply for stamping?

I am in Mumbai... so can I apply in Delhi... since the waiting is much shorter there. I would really appreciate anty inputs.

Not really, your Employer /Attorney would have requested a particular consulate. However, if no slots are available you may go to another consulate. If you and your petitioning company's background is right, they may not revert your application back to the initial requested consulate. Good Luck!

I have been reading in some other forum that if your home state comes under Mumbai and trying to attend in Delhi, then you are given 221 and asked to attend Mumbai. Better check thoroughly on this before taking an appointment
