    Hi,
I was working on L2 before applying for H1b and getting it approved on Oct 1 2007 with COS. Now I have following questions.

    1. My employer says that I need not go for stamping unless I have travel plans. Does delaying stamping affects the probability of getting successful stamping? I mean does my chances of approval reduces if I apply for stamping after a long time, say 2 years.

    2. Is this a good idea to sell off most of your belongings before you leave out of US for stamping? Who knows you may not get approval and may not have the visa to return.

    Thanks in advance
    Jin

    1. No.
    2. No.

2 is not needed since answer to 1 is no.

Thanks for the reply. Still a doubt of 2nd point. If I decides not to wait for long and go for stamping say next month, shouldnt there be a problem if the case gets rejected? Certainly, I will not be allowed to reenter US to sell off my goods.

You can ask help from a friend/relative in worst case scenario - rejection. Is there a reason why you are so skeptical about this? For your peace of mind, you can sell off your goods before going for stamping, if that works for you.
