Help on H1 Visa Interview

Hi,

I am from Bangalore. I have applied for H1 Visa and I have got the approval number. But, now due to some inevitable family circumstances I am not willing to goto US. Also I am planning to leave my current employer and join a new company at Pune. I current employer will not relieve me smoothly if I say that I am not interested. So my question is;

1. Suppose that my current employer schedules an interview, and I visit the Chennai consulate, and I did not attend the interview, will my employer know about that?

2. Or should I attend the interview and say to the consulate officer that I am not interested to visit US at this time as I have many family issues and since my current employer insisted I had to come here.

Which one would be most the appropriate approach.

Your employer is going to know either way sooner or later.

If you can't go, you can simply tell them that you are not interested.
